Energy project could bring $250 million converter station to Lowndes County

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) – Half of a $1.4 billion energy project spanning several southern states will be built in Mississippi.

Lowndes County supervisors heard Thursday morning from a representative with the GTR LINK. The LINK has negotiated with the company to bring in a $250 million converter station which would create a $1.5 million dollar revenue stream in the county.
